How the radius is searched

Craigslist searches the whole radius on every scan. OfferUp searches about 30 miles around a point, so bigger areas are covered by rotating through extra points: a couple per scan, the whole area every few hours. Changing the area starts a fresh scan and a full market harvest (about 30 seconds of extra requests).
